With over 15 years in the oil & gas sector, her journey has encompassed positions ranging from labourer to executive. She creates an environment for healing that is warm, non-judgemental, and accepting.

My Story Hailing from rural Alberta, Shillon grew up the eldest of a large family. Her worldview was profoundly shaped by having a brother with a severe disability. She credits this experience with instilling the belief that every individual has unique abilities and are equally deserving of a life of love and purpose. Travelling the world has cultivated an open mind to different cultural views and provided many opportunities for self reflection. She believes that instilling hope is the first step to facilitating change and works collaboratively to help clients make tangible steps to solve issues and reach goals. Shillon builds off client’s strengths and provides strong support and encouragement throughout the therapeutic process. In her view humor, laughter, and an element of fun, are an important part in creating a comfortable environment for growth. Shillon is passionate about women’s and couples’ health, concentrating her studies in peri-natal health, sexuality, and infertility. She is Gottman trained and uniquely positioned to work with couples given her background in conflict resolution and work experience in traditionally male dominated industries. Notably, she will be facilitating group programs aimed at strengthening relationships in preparation for welcoming a child into a couple’s life.

Jasmine has one of the most empathetic and approachable personalities you’ll encounter in a counsellor-in-training. She is passionate about helping people feel truly seen, understood, and empowered. Her clients benefit from her warm and caring approach, as she supports them in building confidence, strengthening self-esteem, and blossoming into the best version of themselves. With a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens, Jasmine works with diverse populations across the lifespan, from children as young as five to older adults. She has extensive experience supporting individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, along with their families, and is dedicated to advocating for inclusivity and meaningful opportunities. Her areas of interest also include anxiety, life transitions, and supporting caregivers. My Story As a first-generation Canadian, Jasmine was raised in a Ukrainian immigrant household where she often found herself navigating the balance between Ukrainian traditions and Canadian culture. This experience gave her a deep appreciation for identity, belonging, and cultural humility—values she now carries into her counselling practice. Her professional journey has been shaped by her work with Edmonton Catholic Schools and as a Behaviour Specialist, where she gained considerable experience supporting children, youth, and adults with diverse abilities. She discovered a passion for walking alongside individuals with autism and their families, empowering them to live meaningful and fulfilling lives. These experiences strengthened her commitment to advocacy, inclusivity, and creating safe, supportive environments for growth. Outside of her professional life, Jasmine enjoys the simple joys that keep her grounded—spending time with her two cats (Kylo and Mylo) and her dog (Leo), visiting farmers’ markets, exploring fun events around Edmonton, staying active, and playing tennis. Education Jasmine completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (major) and Sociology (minor) at the University of Alberta in 2022. She is currently pursuing her Master of Counselling Psychologyat City University of Seattle, where she has consistently been recognized on the Dean’s List. As part of her graduate training, Jasmine successfully completed a comprehensive examination process, which involved written and oral case conceptualizations before a panel of registered psychologists. This experience allowed her to demonstrate her clinical knowledge, therapeutic skills, and commitment to the counselling profession. In addition to her formal education, Jasmine has sought out specialized training to deepen her skills in trauma-informed care, autism, and culturally responsive practices. She values continuous learning and draws on these trainings to enrich her counselling work. • Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (major) and Sociology (minor) – University of Alberta, 2022 • Master of Counselling Psychology (in progress) – City University of Seattle o Dean’s List recognition o Comprehensive examination (written & oral case conceptualizations before a panel of registered psychologists) • Additional Training & Certifications: o Trauma-Informed Care – Alberta Health Services o Trauma and Autistic Adults – Tony Attwood & Garnet Events o Trauma and Autistic Children and Teenagers – Tony Attwood & Garnet Events o Addiction and Autism – Tony Attwood & Garnet Events o Psychological First Aid – World Health Organization o Feminism, Intersectionality, and Narrative Therapy – The Dulwich Centre o Aboriginal Narrative Practice – The Dulwich Centre o Sexualities, Genders, and Narrative Practice: A Narrative Therapy Queer Space – The Dulwich Centre Approach Jasmine believes that every person holds the capacity for growth, resilience, and healing. Marissa is dedicated to supporting individuals in rediscovering their inner strength and wisdom, as they work toward meaningful change. She believes that people often have the answers to many of life’s challenges within, and that her role as a therapist is to help guide in accessing that knowledge. Utilizing a collaborative and non-judgmental approach, Marissa creates a welcoming space where clients feel safe to explore their emotions and take steps toward personal growth and healing.

With experience working with both children and adults in multiple psychology research labs at the University of Alberta, Marissa brings a strong academic and practical foundation to her practice. Her background also includes volunteering on the SACE crisis line, where she received training in supporting individuals navigating sexual trauma. These experiences have given Marissa a deep understanding of the complexities people face, allowing her to approach clients with both experience and compassion.

Using a blend of therapeutic modalities, Marissa tailors her sessions to meet the unique needs of each client. She draws from cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and person-centered strategies, among others.
